Principle of operation of TPMS sensors
Direct sensors.
TPMS sensors are mandatory equipment for new cars produced after 2014. However, contrary to appearances, the pressure sensors themselves are not a new invention. The 1986 Porshe 959 was the first model to be equipped with a TPMS system.
The sensors significantly facilitate the control of the correct air pressure in the tires. There are two types of sensors on the market: direct and indirect. TPMS sensors sold on LadneFelgi.pl are direct sensors. What is their principle of operation?
The principle of the TPMS pressure sensor in a direct system.
Direct-type pressure monitoring sensors are small devices equipped with a battery that are mounted near the valve or on the inside of the rim. So if you want to see the pressure in each wheel, you need to have 4 such sensors. What information do the sensors transmit to the driver? Each TPMS sensor examines the current pressure value. Information about the air condition in the tire is transmitted in real time by radio to the computer installed in the car - and now, depending on the brand of the vehicle, the sensors can indicate the exact value of tire pressure (with an accuracy of 0.1 bar), or only inform about changes. Everything is done wirelessly - without installing additional cables.
Tire Pressure Management System is not very technically advanced - it informs and does not inflate the wheel to the correct level personally (which is a pity!). So in the event of any air leakage, inflate the tires to the pressure recommended by the manufacturer for your car. Do it yourself in the garage or go to the gas station or service station. You should not hesitate with it, because driving on under-inflated wheels has negative consequences: higher fuel consumption, increased tire wear, braking distance, or reduced driving comfort.
