Geneva Motor Show 2017

The Geneva Motor Show is the most important event presenting new car models. The history of the fair dates back to 1905 and since then it has become a symbol of the presentation of the most important cars on the market. It was in Geneva that the Jaguar E-type or Aston Martin DB7 were presented for the first time - vehicles that are today icons of the automotive industry. On March 9-19, 2017, eight exhibition halls were filled by most of the car manufacturers on the market. Both coupe, convertible and family estate enthusiasts had a chance to satisfy their curiosity here. Although we could not be at the event in person, we will try to present some interesting presentations.

A car that can gain huge popularity is definitely the KIA Stinger, a higher-class passenger car with a coupe-inspired silhouette. The Korean manufacturer decided to use the drive transmitted to the rear axle of the vehicle, which will probably attract fans of sports driving. Of course, the vehicle can also be equipped with four-wheel drive. The most powerful engine version has 365HP, which is obtained from a 3.3l engine equipped with 2 turbochargers. Of course, there are also more economical options - 2.0T - 255KM and 2.2CRDi - 200KM.

You could also see the Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo, a station wagon version of a luxury 4-door car launched in 2009. As you can see, the manufacturer, which until recently was associated only with sports models, is successfully expanding into other segments. The car will be available in 4- and 5-seater options.

Fans of fast hatchbacks came across the Ford Fiesta ST, which has a 3-cylinder turbocharged engine under the hood, which resulted in 200HP. Thanks to this, the car is able to accelerate to 100 km / h in just 6 seconds. The vehicle is equipped with a single cylinder deactivation function to increase fuel economy. Ford used a new rim pattern and refreshed the exterior to add a bit of aggression.

Another more down-to-earth car available to visitors to the fair, but also available in showrooms, was the new BMW 5 Series. The car resembled a larger 7-series limousine. Depending on the selected engine version, the car can have power from 190 to 340KM. The rich standard equipment will definitely win over the fans of the G30 model, the more so as the car can be purchased with the "xDrive" 4-wheel drive option.

The Swedish brand Volvo proudly presented the new XC60, which has now become very similar to the XC90. As befits the ideology of the Scandinavian manufacturer, the car has been equipped with a number of safety systems that are already included in the basic version of the vehicle. The engine versions provide a power range from 190 to 407HP, with the greatest power coming from the hybrid version.

Drivers who like to take laps to the extreme have become acquainted with the latest version of the 911 GT3. This time, the German brand offered its customers 400KM of power flowing straight from the 4-liter boxer, which is able to charm our ears with the sound of 9000 revolutions of the crankshaft. For better handling, the steering wheels of the rear axle were used here, as well as the lowered suspension. The PDK gearbox allows the vehicle to accelerate to 100 km / h in just 3.4 seconds.

The fair, of course, was much bigger and it is impossible to describe it in just a few sentences. Therefore, we encourage you to participate in this type of event, as it is an unforgettable event for every automotive fan.
