The world and technology are still moving forward, the time has come for plastic rims suitable for serial production. These are the wheels presented in the new FORVISION LUBRICANTS. The company BASF, which has developed a lot of innovative solutions, plays a large part in the development of the rims and the entire car. The rim is made of ULTRAMID STRUCTURE, a new long-fiber reinforced polyamide that BASF introduced last year. This material is more widely used than the automotive industry, it is used for the production of facade cladding and special pins, but we are interested in rims. The advantage of such thermoplastic rims is undeniably their weight, they are lighter than traditional ones made of aluminum by 30%, one fe lga weighs only about 6 kg. "ULTRAMID" can also be used to replace metal in other parts of the car, e.g. bumpers, battery grips , various engine mounts and many other structural elements, which will undoubtedly significantly affect the "slimmer " of the vehicle and reduce its weight, which will have a positive impact on reducing fuel consumption or improving acceleration. On the wheels alone, 12 kilograms were saved.

The rims consist of two parts, the first is the actual support and the second is the wheel cover, all of which are made of ULTRAMID STRUCTURE. Computers and BASF's proprietary simulation tool ULTRASIM played a large role in the design of the rims, and the shape of the arms in the rim was also determined by computer without disturbing its structure. The wheels have undergone meticulous tests in SMART and BASF laboratories, e.g. - tolerance test on a wheel measuring machine - fatigue test on a two-axis ZWARP wheel test stand - impact and crack resistance test - tear test. Another advantage of such rims is that they can be easily painted in any color of your choice, according to your preferences and taste.
